On April 16 in Washington, DC, the Ad Hoc Inhabitant Network to Stop Evictions & Foreclosures methodical a demonstration outside a meeting of the Mortgage Bankers Associaton at the Washington Court Hotel. reason.tv’s Dan Hayes and Michael C. Moynihan checked out the demonstration and talked with some of the activists, who quickly altered the subject from home loans to Castro’s Cuban paradise, the need to free Mumia Abu Jamal, forgiving student loans, the Rothschilds (!), Haitians eating a mixture of dirt and oil (!?!?), and much, much more
Ameritards cannot even take responsibility for their own financial mistakes, Huge Brother will come in and save them. You buy a house that puts a huge strain on your monthly budget, then, you go out and buy a bunch of junk with a credit card, then, you get a heloc so you can go out and buy more junk. Why has this society lost all discipline, because they can rely on Huge Brother to bail them out.
WOW — why don’t they just go to Cuba? Oh yeah because Cuba doesn’t like people who have opinions
these people are jokes and unfortunately Obama is leading the retarded passage
The most amusing (saddest?) part of the entire film is where the methodical Marxist brags that in Cuba, people are really free to tell him how fantastic socialism is.
“there are not luxuries, but people have food…people have education”
so…standardized poverty?
This bothers me so much. I’ve only been to a few anti-war and bailout protests…..but I often find that I’m the only Capitalist in a sea of Socialists and Communists! During the rally, the speeches given ALWAYs turn off the topic of whatever the protest is to some speaker with a ******** Marxist agenda.
A government that has the power to give you everything you need has the power to take it all away.
There are some really scale quotes here.
“The production can be rationally plotted… not by banks, etc…”
“I’m a methodical Marxist.”
I get it — you’re not one of those guys who walk around with a rifle and kill you for dissenting against the party. Sure.
The government doesn’t erect anything (besides weapons) hence it can’t erect houses without forcibly taking the resources from someone else.
Plus, what if I like being a farmer? Should I simply change my values and perception of the world to conform to the way the government wants me to live?
You ideal man is a robot who will change who they are to suit the needs of the government. No freethinking person with a drop of self-esteem should or would ever subjugate themselves to such a logic.
If the government takes your crops, erect houses on your property and rent them. The problem is never the problem. The way we perceive the problem is the problem. There is always a way to prosper, no matter what the circumstances.
1 idiot, 1 vote.
Socialist related body count over last 100 years: 150 000 000
Yeah, let’s vote for more of that…
Simple example refuting your point:
Say you’re a farmer. Your success comes from your ability to grow crops, which you can then consume/trade.
But, if a government comes and confiscates/destroys your crops, it induces teh failure.
QED.
Hilarious. Thanks for building my day.
On in America would calling someone a socialist undermine their (rational) points. McCarthyism is alive and well in the land of the free…
That’s reason for you.
The people do not give taxes. Taxes are compulsory and must be paid under threat of violence. If it were voluntary it would be a service fee and if you didn’t pay they wouldn’t have to help you when the need arises.
The government that governs least governs not at all.
Really quite sad, some points were essentially excellent like “the people make the money” though I clash greatly from their socialist views. The people make it and therefore should keep it and be allowed to spend it as they wish. It’s theirs after all. Also can we have a protest that keeps to one topic once and a while?
None of these people believe in liberty. Government. Government. Government. That’s their answer to everything.
Socialism is socialism. Bailing out the banks is just another socialist act, benefiting those who have pull.
That was depressing… so much baffled thought
Oh, these people…Thank God we have Reason magazine to point them out and indeed the very faculty of reason to defeat their ridiculous arguments.
Thats amusing, but its sad that those people exist.
Haha yeah, they don’t know much of anything – must have been that ‘free’ government education they received growing up.
these people dont know history or economics
The new worlding odors are heading your way, what will you do to help?
We must turn off the tele’s and wake the hell up,quick!
Tyranny fails and so will the new world order!
A government is best that which governs least!
ppl r weird
bugger, I though it would go this way…
danwentz Your comment is cold man. What world r u living in ? Your sure not living in the real world.
