When you pay it off, is that called unfinancing, or what? And if you get a new mortgage later, is that called refinancing even though it’s a new mortgage? Are the terms and rates usually the same as normal refinancing?
Is It Worth It to Refinance My 30 Yr Fix?
I am a small over 5 years into a 30 yr fix @ 5.25%
This was the lowest rate on a 30yf until today. Rates are going under 5%…but is it worth it since I have a fantastic low rate right now? I hear it isn’t worth it until at least 2 % lower from given rate? So, I shouldn’t refinance unless Mortgage rates fall to 3.25%?

Mortgage Refinancing and Fed Rate Drop?
The Fed is expected to drop interest rates again soon (50 basis points, maybe as much as 75 basis points). How is that likely to affect the mortgage refinance rates (would it be surpass to wait a few days or to refinance now)? Thanks
