My fiance has a debt collector coming after her pretty aggressively and in not the most ethical way (in CA). She has a car (still paying on it) and no other assets. I own a house with more equity than here debt. Can her debt collector come after my assets once we are married?

My fiance and I are considering buying a bank/ lender owned home that totals no more than $70,000 asking price, I have a fantastic credit score but not much on it, just a tiny loan and credit card. He has his credit full and not the best score in the world. Just curious if anyone knows how likely it is that we will be approved for a home?

My fiance is trying to get approved for financing for a home we want to own. He has always tried to pay in cash to dodge debt, but has as a result no credit score established. He would qualify for more than enough based on income. Anyone have any information to let us know whether to squash this dream?
