Would Refinancing My Home Benefit Me?

I want to decrease my monthly mortgage payments. My payment went from $675 last year to $784 this year, because of escrow increase. I want to lower that. We have a 30 yr fixed 6.65%. No prepay fees from current lender. We have only owned our home for 17 mos and we are new to this. Would it make sense to refinance to get a lower payment? If so what kinds of questions should I question the lenders and what kind of fees are involved?

I Refinanced My Home. After Closing, Why Didn’t the Mortgage Company Pay My County Tax Bill?

I refinanced my home this year. Part of the closing costs included my bill for county taxes. A month later I expected the tax bill. When I contacted the county about it, they said the mortgage company had yet to pay the bill. Will the mortgage company eventually pay the bill? (Maybe at the last possible moment before penalty). Or do they expect me to forward the bill to them? I don’t escrow my taxes and I usually pay early to receive a money off.

How Much for Refinancing Fees Using Amerisave?

I’m trying to refinance my house owing to Amerisave at 4.375% APR but they want $8900 at closing to cover all the fees. My wife and I reflect this is an absurd amount of cash for this. The lender says I will get back $2600 in escrow, and won’t have to pay mortgage for 2 months, so a lot will come back, but we’ll still be out around 3K. Has anyone here dealt with these guys, and are they legit?
