Refinancing Affect on Capital Gain in Canada?

refinancing

Canadian answers only please.

If I own a rental property (within a corporation) and I refinance to remove some of the value, is capital gains paid in the current year or when/if the property is sold in some future year.

Secondly if I take the refinance money to reinvest “profit” into the company (eg// buy another property) how will this affect the capital gains.

Thanks in advance,

How Should I Go About Refinancing My Home?

refinancing

I have a mortgage loan at 6% with a balance less than 80,000/8 years. Should I refinance the balance that I owe to invest my money somewhere else? Would it be worth refinancing with only 8 years left? I was thought about purchasing a new home and renting the current one that I have. The market where my home is very excellent for renting. Thank you.

Are There Any Debt Consolidation Companies That Really Work?

debt

With the current economy, and my work hours being cut, I’m in need of some serious credit card help. It’s now a choice between the credit cards and housing/food. If I could reduce my debt and make significantly lower monthly payments, it would be a life saver! Do any of these companies really do what they say? Also, what would be the impression on my credit ( as different to bankruptcy ), and how long would it take for this to drop off my credit bureau. I’d appreciate any advice.

What Spreadsheet Formula Would I Use to Automatically Calculate Loan Interest from a Past Date Until Today?

loan

For example, let’s say I want to calculate the interest to date on a loan that was made on January 1, 2007.

How would I set up a formula so that the estimate would always be current? In other words, if I close the spreadsheet now and open it tomorow, I want it to show the right values without me manually changing the dates.

I usually use OpenOffice.org Calc, but I also have Excel if it’s necessary.

Thanks!
