I Am Refinancing for a Lower Mortgage Rate What Will the Appraiser Do?

I bought my home one year ago and now I am refinancing. The appraiser is coming next week. What will they do? If a spare room and garage is messy will that affect the appraisal cost? Will they look in my closets? What if the appraised value changes excellent or terrible over when I bought it last year? Does that change the loan or my taxes?
