A relative bought a car for me and of course it’s in their name. There is an auto loan on the car, but I make the timely payments. We’re wondering if one day I would be able to refinance the car into my name to make it simpler or if it can be refinance with my name added. If not, do you know of any alternative options?

My father cosigned on my auto loan and is now filing bankruptcy. He has never made a payment on the loan. I’ve been building all the payments and it is my car. Will anything happen to me or the loan?
I plot to buy a new car but I wanted to be approved for a bank loan before I go to the car dealership. In our area, Chase Bank is offering rates of 4.4% at the most. What is the minimum credit score needed to be approved. I don’t want to go around applying for different loans if I will continue to get turned down which will then lower my credit score.
It seems like dealers have a better chance of getting you a loan, I had a couple of equipment happen about 5 years ago which are affecting my fico score, and I have never had an issue getting loan or anything like that, now I am trying on my own I cannot get one. I in fact got one on a car a month ago, but the car was totalled the next day by another driver 
it has been paid off.
