My Student Loans Are in Default, but I Still Received Back State Refund Taxes. Will I Get a Stimulus Check?

loans

Also, if I do not receive my stimuls check, because they applied it to my loans, if the check amt covers the amt in default, will that bring me current with my payments?

  1. idk, im in the same boat, i get my wages garnished, but i did get back all my federal refund.

oh and P.S tell Frenchy to shut up…..tell her to go to school full time, be a mom full time, and live alone, and pay your bills while no one helps you…do that FRENCHY!!! Then you can be judgemental..better yet, come pay my bills for me…you loud mouth

  2. Stimulus rebate is from federal. Your rebate will be held and adjusted against student loan. In short you will not get the rebate.

For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read:>

  3. You are the reason people like me have to pay so much in interest. Pay your debts!!! Student loans are a privledge and you are contributing to the lack of funds available to current students.

  4. Student loans ****. But, I went to school full time, and worked full time, AND had a child and paid and still pay my student loans. My son’s dad died while I was pregnant with him, so I didn’t get help.
BTW, material happens and people get behind, but I don’t reckon you should automatically assume no one can pay their debts while in school, working, and having a child.

  5. If you have a student loan in default any Federal refunds (including the rebates) are subject to capture. If it’s enough to bring your account current then you’ll receive whatever is left over, if anything.
