I’m Married and My Wife Has Student Loans and a Car Payment. Can I Apply for a Home Loan Without Her ?

home loans

She has excellent credit, just the debts.
Can I apply for a home loan without her debts coming in to play as a factor. Because I don’t have any debts and I’m the one building money right now. Or do they include your spouse’s debt as well ?

  1. I don’t know anything about this material. Excellent night, xx.

  2. Yes you can. Because my husband went and applied for a loan w/o me cause i have terrible credit. They told him that he could do that.

  3. I’m honestly certain you can not place her name on it if its terrible credit.

  4. Depending on what state you live in, she may not need to be a cosigner. But, numerous states (such as Wisconsin) require married couples to be told when their spouse apply for loans, credit cards, etc. as well as becoming cosigners on any loans. Do keep in mind though, as long as she is building payments on time with her student loans and car payments, her credit could be excellent. :) Good luck!

  5. Yes, you can, but then only your income would be considered.

  6. You can apply by yourself, and they’ll consider just your income, but only your debts and any joint debts.
