What Is Sole Benefit of Property and Debt in a Divorce?

debt

I live in Minnesota going owing to a dissolution of marraige. My appreciative is marital property and debt is divided 50/50. Each party keeps all property and debt former to the marraige. I believe like a car is considered sole property when that person is the only one who uses it. I believe the debt still will need to be paid to me even though it is consolidated in other loans.

How Does Getting a Joint Mortgage Work?

mortgage

Both my partner and i own our own homes, we live in his and rent mine out. How do we go about being paid a joint mortgage to buy a larger family home? Do we sell our houses first? What happens if one house takes a while longer to sell?

We both have different mortgage providers.
Would the fact that i have had my mortgage for less time than my partner matter? So many questions…..

Thanks in advance.

What if He Doesn’t Sell/refinance the House by the Time He Agreed to in the Divorce Papers?

refinanced

Okay, I have been divorced for about 2 years now. In the seperation agreement, my ex agreed to sell our house ( that both our names are under the mortgage ) or refinance it within 3 years. With only a year left, I have a sinking feeling that he will not sell/refinance in time. What should I do if this happens? Since he signed court paperwork agreeing to sell/refinance within 3 years, do I need a lawyer? Attorney? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
